Project WHY has no institutional or government support, and hence depends entirely on individuals and donations from well wishers and supporters. Till date we have been able to sustain all its activities thanks to an ever increasing network of supporters. Almost all the money received goes back to the community we work with. PlanetWHY is a place where you may come across people from many lands:
Uganda, France, Azerbeijan, Switzerland, Senegal, England.. they are our band of volunteers
who come and give their time and love. They share their knowledge and experience and help
us do what we set out to. They spend a few days, a few weeks or even a few months. And when
they go, they leave a little of themselves in each one of us. Meet our
volunteers.
Project Why exists because and thanks to all those who believe in us, meet our donors.
Project Why began as a spontaneous reaction to help an unfortunate few, and has grown organically over eight years to become an extraordinary life-line that offers many children hope instead of despondency. Project Why is a hand to mouth type of organisation; desperation connects the income received from donors with the investment in its resources. Planet Why is the answer to this desperate struggle - Planet Why is the dream that a sustainable future for Project Why might exist, that Project Why might have a chance to reach out to a few more and to grow, that the begging for help might be supplemented by a more predictable life-line
